12 Years A Slave Wins Golden Globe Award
Critically claimed film, 12 years a slave directed by Steve McQueen wins Best Motion Drama Picture at the 2014's Golden Globe Awards. Based on the true-life story the film features actor: Chiwetel Ejiofor, actress: Lupita Nyong'o and Alfre Woodard, the picture recounts the story of Solomon Northup - a man born free who as later kidnapped back into slavery.

Though a surprising win as voiced by Steve McQueen in his acceptance speech, the film's audience were not expecting anything less. Though disappointing that the film's stars were surpassed for awards for their respective roles in Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director categories, we are glad to see that the film received the acknowledgement it deserved.
