The exhibition first made waves when it opened in 2011 at the Met in New York. A total of 661,509 people visited the exhibition - making it the biggest attended exhibition The Met had ever seen. Celebrities and close friends of McQueen including Naomi Campbell, Daphne Guinness and Sarah Jessica Parker attended the exhibition on the opening night at the Met Ball Gala.
