Amazones by Juneshop - A Nod To Powerful Women
The Spring / Summer collection boasts bold and bright coloured biker jackets, skirts, high-waisted trousers and dresses in an editorial set in background of a bold green forest - the perfect background to the nature of what this collection represents. Juneshop describes Amazones as “mythological warrior women, positive heroic figures, protectors and founders of cities, attractive and feared anti-role models, free and conquering.”
Founded in 2001 by Cameroonian native designer Nelly Mbonou, Juneshop was created to satisfy the designer's taste for African wax fabrics fused with modern cuts. Described as a 'melting mode', the label reinterprets the ethnic folklore in an urban setting to democratise African fabrics, sublimating their wealth and diversity.
