Do The Right Thing - this weekend and join TheNuBlk in celebrating the 25th anniversary of Spike Lee's classic


On June 21st, TheNuBlk and We Are Parable have organised that you join them at Rio Cinema, not just for the 25th anniversary screening of Spike Lee's famed classic: Do The Right Thing - but also for a block party, free pizza and of course, the screening of the World Cup Games at Shutterbug (Shoreditch).

Recognised as one of the greatest films of all time, not to forget its cultural significance, Do The Right Thing is a comedy-drama, narrating the story of  Mookie (Spike Lee), an African-American and his experience in the racially-tense neighbourhood of Bed-Stuy, Brookyln.

The screening takes place at 1.15pm at Rio Cinema (Hackney), with tickets selling for £7.50 and concessions tickets at £6. Get your ticket here.

Starts at 4pm until 1am with some of London's hottest DJs. You can look forward to Amplified, who is sure to take you back to the sounds of the 90s from Hip Hop to New Jack Swing. Complete with dancers, pizza and chalk murals no block party would be complete without a dance-off. Prizes will be given to the best dressed individual who captures the spirit of ‘Do The Right Thing’ as well as an exclusive dance off to the iconic “Fight The Power” by Public Enemy.
