Ticket Giveaway for Africa Fashion Week London 2017

Africa Fashion Week London returns this Friday and Saturday for the 7th edition of its annual fashion event on August 11th and 12th from 1pm in London at Freemasons' Hall, 60 Great Queen Street, WC2B 5AZ.

We would like you to join us by offering you the chance to win a ticket to the event on both days. To enter, email or tweet us a picture of yourself in your favourite African-inspired look by Thursday August 10th. 

At this year's event, attendees will have the chance to experience five catwalk shows from thirty-nine established designers from Africa (Ghana, Togo, Kenya, South Africa, Congo, Tanzania, Mozambique, Senegal, Uganda, Cameroon and Nigeria ) and the diaspora, in which they will showcase over three-hundred looks and designs. Amongst them are British-Nigerian designer, Elizabeth-Yemi Akingbade of Yemzi whom since 2014 has been artistically wowing us, from our first encounter at Africa Utopia. 

Additionally, the event will present a selection of hand-picked brands who will be exhibiting fashion and accessories, available to purchase. As usual we look forward to the entertainment on the day and the opportunity to network with others around our shared interest in African-inspired fashion and style.

Founded in 2013 with a limited edition range of t-shirts, Yemzi is a sustainable street-luxe bohemian fashion inspired by African and European art, culture and creativity; made with love in London for the active dreamer. Tired of seeing African designers limited by the same Dutch wax designs, Elizabeth-Yemi creates the artwork for her collections, which are inspired by West African culture. She combines her unique fabrics with Western and traditional silhouettes. Her work is consciously influenced by her English upbringing in the seaside town of Bournemouth with her Caucasian foster family, hybridised with her Nigerian roots and culture.
